Beta ALP 4T vs. Scorpa 4T

Recommended Posts

hello,

I live in Italy and I am using a Beta ALP 200 4T for riding

on mountain paths near my house in Tuscany.

It's a nice bike for this kind of "pseudo-trial + short road transferts" usage but

when I need to climb over (even little) obstacles I find some

serious problems, especially because it's nearly impossible to lift the front wheel (too heavy?, low engine power?).

So I am looking for another bike, more "trial oriented". But I still need

to ride on roads for some kilometers, so I need a seat, and it has to

be street legal...

Is the Scorpa TY-F 125 4T (just an idea) a good choice for me?

I fear it's too slow on road trasferts...

another option could be the new Yamaha Tricker (but its' too heavy...)

is it too street oriented?

thank you

m.

The Scorpa is a nice bike...they make also the SYF 175, which has 150cc and better torque...this bike is much lighter than the Alp bikes...and they have decent seats..and if you have the cash, the 250 is a nice bike with bette power and handling, perfect for tours with their seat kits.

I have no t bike experience as I just bought an 04 beta 200 to see what it is all about. When i was looking around to see what is out there for t bikes. I came to the conclusion that montesa has the best "trail" set up. You can buy one of the new 4rt with a pretty substantial seat and a expanded gas tank. If money is an issue you can do the same thing to an older 315 r. You get a real trials bike with a seat and expanded range.
