There is always a should have.

How old brand like Yamaha, KTM, Husqvarna, etc ?

How old is Sherco ?

Here is some info

In 1998, Marc Teissier made his long-awaited dream come true: to create his own make of trials bike. He surrounded himself with a team of people who had in-depth experience in the field. Above all they started from scratch, with no commitments other than those he personally brought with him. The goal was to offer a product that would come as close to the fans' wishes as possible and achieve the highest level of quality.

Entering such a competitive and demanding market, with its technological advances and sporting demands which move more quickly than the bikes themselves, was a true challenge. Today, three years on, we can state we have achieved Marc's goal with flying colors.

In just over three years of production, Sherco has positioned itself as a leading contender in terms of the field's technology, and is fighting for the sales lead with companies with a much longer history in the market. The positive response from our clients and their satisfaction is not merely a reward; it is, above all, our goal. The key to success is simple: a group of professionals dedicated exclusively to trials bikes. Their passion has become a model for all those who make up Sherco's team. Behind each and every one of them is a true trials fan, and from this starting point, the challenges have been easily reached.

The year 2001 marked an important milestone in Sherco's history, during this year we celebrated unit number 6,000 leaving the production line at Caldes de MontbuÌ (Spain). During this same period of time we have seen the expansion of our activities into the world of enduro, having acquired the know-how from French firm HRD and created a new factory in Nimes (France) which is dedicated exclusively to this segment of the market.

In this way, the 3,000 units produced under the Sherco brand in 2001 will be increased by 50% (4,500) in 2002, with a range of nine models spread over two specialties, making the Sherco brand bigger and better known; a brand that is already present in 45 countries, throughout five continents.

2001 has also been the year to mark the company's first victories in the World Trials Championship, those being the four GPs won by Graham Jarvis and Marc Freixa, who also managed to end the year second in the World Indoor Championship. Sherco's commitment to sport has been made clear from the start, and is emphasized by Graham Jarvis' historic victory in this year's Scottish Six Days.
