Backfire after jetting

Recommended Posts

I rejetted after installing a FMF Q2 exhaust. Now I have this more noticeable backfire. More so after letting off the throttle. I rejetted with a 158 main and a 42 pilot with a 55 leak. I have a 05' CRF250X. Thanks for any advice.

If it does it more after warm-up I would guess your fuel screw is a tad lean..

maybe 1/8 turn (out, to richen it up a bit) if that doesn't help check for an air leak at the head connection (an slip joint if it has one) remember to make sure the pipe doesn't rub or bind on the frame before tightening the head connection

and use a NEW gasket. Thats what I would do :banghead:

Good Luck, BC
