taking tools?

What sort of things do you guys take on extended trail rides? because im not sure what to take. because now i am wanting to take things with me because on the weekend my friends bikes chain snapped and we couldnt fix it. we ended up hiding his bike in amongst the bushes and i dubbed him back to our trailer cause it was about 15km away and was starting to get dark and we had nothing to tow him back with. so wat do yous take?

Master link, tube, tire irons, pump, vise grips, few sockets that are most commonly used, like on my bike 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

hondaowns is right on the money! i also take some wire cutters, and some screwdrivers. a leatherman couldnt hurt.

Take your oem tool kit and/or a Moose-Fredette rider wrench that does both axles. Spare clutch lever. Interchangeable bit screwdriver. Tow strap. Epoxy putty (like MSR). Cable ties. The last 20 feet of a roll of ductape.
