billet exhuast tips

Im a new DRZ sm owner and also this is my first motorcycle since about 1976 so I,ve been spending lots of time reading these posts to try to learn a bit about how the thing works. The first thing I want to change is the exhaust since it is so quiet. Been looking at a new pipe but was wondering about the exhaust tips. Can anyone tell me if there is any negative aspects to the billet tips? Will I need to change anything in the carbs? Thanks.

I put one on my S (No 3x3) and it made a world of difference in the sound, no performance gain. It definately looks better than the stock tip.

It does make it sound better. It isn't too loud either, but I don't think it gives any power gain at all. I think it is worth the money.

No power gain - decent sound increase over stock. Not too loud - still want it louder!
