cutaccross2 Posted October 15, 2005 This came in an Email from Chris Horgon Stewards of the Sequioa Conference on Stopping Off-Road Vehicle Abuse in the California Desert A conference on stopping off-road vehicle abuse in the california desert will be held in Victorville on October 22 and 23. It will address the growing problem of the siege of our desert communities by uncontrolled off-road vehicle use. The conference will feature presentations of the problem, workshops, a panel with law enforcement and public officials, and strategy sessions. The conference will be held in the Student Activity Center at Victor Valley College, 18422 Bear Valley Road, Victorville, California. Parking on Saturday is $1.50 (the machines in the parking lot accept only quarters; Sunday parking is free. For more information, contact Jason Fried at 951-781-1336. Rock_Hound Posted October 15, 2005 Yes we need people that live in the high desert that ride near or from their home to point out that pressures from shrinking riding areas, more affordable housing in the High Desert and increasing numbers of OHV riders can cause conflicts. We need riding areas to be expanding, not contracting. The recent proposed closure of 27% of Sequoia's single track can be pointed to as BLM's mind set that have home owners and riders on a collision course as riding areas shrink.
