Motor Oil

What brand and weight motor oil do you use in your CRF250X. I was at the shop the other day and they have so many brands and weights of oil.

Chevron supreme 10-40. No expensive witch oils for this bike. Its about a buck twenty a quart. Just tore it down for a valve issue and the piston/cylinder looks great, no bottom end or clutch issues at all. Oh ya, works on both sides of the motor too.

Honda HP4M (silver bottle) in the engine and HP4 (gold bottle) in the trans.

i use rotella in both sides of my motor. Got the idea from a local expert.

At like 5 bucks a gallon i can afford to change it every ride, so i do. The expert has run it as long as he has had 4 strokes and hasn't had any problems

i think a CRF owner should run Energy Conserving oil in the motor side, since it does not touch the clutch. Don't put it in the clutch side because it can cause the clutch to slip. But, the molly is great for reducing friction and wear. Don't worry about excessive costs, as many readily available car motor oils are energy conserving.
