Hot start cable

Recommended Posts

On the hot start cable carburetor end, where the cable goes in...is the little plastic black piece, I stripped mine out. Is there an aftermarket one around maybe made of metal or something else?

I did the same thing once. You can do one of two things:

1). Put a stock one back in (Honda Part # 16019-MEB-671) $14.56 from Service Honda, and if you take the carburetor off, don't remove the hot start from the carb. Instead, just take it off from the handle bars.

2). Do what RAMZ did and go out and buy a choke to put in there instead. It works the same way and you can loose the cable.

I used the choke for a while and it works great. Went back to the cable eventually.

Hope this helps.

I ride all trails and sometimes find that the bike starts better when it's hot. I will usually pull it if it doesn't start on the first crank or two (usually after I dump it) :banghead:
