If you've never owned a KTM, make sure that you follow the recommended proceedure for setting the correct chain tension. On KTM's, when the tension is set properly, it will look VERY loose compared to other bikes. You have to learn to ignore loose chain warnings you get from riding buddies that aren't aware of KTM chain tension. Setting the chain too tight can cause many problems from restricting rear suspension travel, leaking countershaft seals, broken countershaft, broken chain taking out the clutch slave cylinder, etc.

Get radiator guards. Get a good full coverage skid plate. Get an aftermarket (wider) chain guide (EE makes one).
