pauld Posted October 17, 2005 I'm trying to remove the front sprocket, but man the nut is tight. I've tapped down the washer that locks the nut in place, put a little WD40 on it but I just can't undo the bolt, the rear brake is just not stong enough and the wheel keeps turning. Are there any secrets and how much force can I put on it (I'm using a 1/2 socket set with a power bar)? Any tricks or sugestions would be welcomed. Cheers Paul

klxd Posted October 17, 2005 Do a search. This topic has been discussed several times lately.
pauld Posted October 19, 2005 I did the search, which confirmed what I expected, which was stop the wheel from turning and just apply a lot force. Which I did, still very very tight so I took just applied a little heat to the nut (chain off of course) and it came undone relatively easily.
Kawidad My Rides (2) Posted October 19, 2005 Yup, heat is the best way to "melt" the loctite.
