WR250f with taller gearing

Recommended Posts

hi fellow WR250f riders !

i just want to know how your WR's are going with the taller gearing (14/41..14/46 gearing etc). ...i am going to be doing alot of 50-65 mph riding over the next few months...not long range maybe 80 miles a day max...anyway i was wondering if the accelertaion was still ok off the line..like for wheelies in 1st and 2nd ?

ill be doing a small amount of tight single trail but 70-80% will be on hard fire roads in 5th gear with a little bitchumen (10%)

i have a hard pak knobby ready for the job..

i got stock 13/50 at the moment but it revs a bit high at 60mph for my liking.

i got a pro circuit with all the free mods.

thanks for any other advice, reply or input

im ridin over summer with some xr250/400 guys..

My bike is set up exactly as you mentioned. Its much better for dual sport riding and it will cruise better and quieter on the road. As for wheelies I can still pull them up in 1st or second but the revs have to be much higher. I have many power mods to help with the wheelie thing.

YZ cam

FMFq2 pipe

all the free mods

and power now.

thanks for that tcskibike...just what i wanted to know....i don't want to lose too much bottom end for your average tight single trail and the odd hill climb along the way...

also...are you running 14/46 sprockets?

cheers
