hard to start???? am i the only one

Recommended Posts

The same is with my bike. Cold i use the choke, find tdc, but it sounds like to much gasoline. I have to kick sometimes 20 times or more.

My friend says i have to change the carburetor adjustment. But i don't know - more or less fuel !?

If the bike is warm - i don't use the hot start and it is mostly perfect with the 1st or 2nd kick. But after the engine was stalled - i kick again with or without hotstart more than 10 kicks.

How starts Yours?

If your bike starts with the choke on, when you have stalled it or someting...the bike runs to lean... turn the fuel screw out and se if it makes any diffrent. If it doesn´t, screw the the other way. You should allways use the hotstart when the bike is warm, if not you bike runs great with the jetting. If the jetting is correct the bike should start after maximum 5 kicks, if not..use the hot start.

We had the same starting problems with 2 RMZ450 . Went from unleaded to leaded fuel and guess what, starts first kick now. Unleaded sucks.
