New here....blew up my bike and was told to come here for info...

I was riding i went up to a face of a jump and my bike cuts off...and lights back up RIGHT before my back wheel left the ground and then stalled in the next corner....and i started it back up and started riding to the pits b/c i new sumthin was wrong and it was like lagging....i would be going and it would jump forward and then lagg back and then it started clicking and 5 seconds later it jus shut off....and you cant move the kickstarter...im hearing it might be Valve problem (dropping a valve?)..any ideas wut else it might be, how much itll cost to fix, how long it will take, or how hard it is to fix it yourself??? That could be a number of things...a dropped valve, a thrown rod, a broken cam chain. Start pulling it apart and let us know what you find.

It could also be the rod seizing to the crank. This happened to my 03 and to my friends 04. Since it was a slow death, i don't think it could have dropped a valve. Just my $.02.

I'd lay odds on a new crank too. You can buy OEM parts thru TT for a lot less than your shop would charge you.

HAHA hope you dont have my luck. I came out of a corner in 3rd gear. SMACK! the back wheel just froze. Went to kick it over siezed. Get home pulled the engine apart. The diagnosis, threw a rod. The rod took out EVERYTHING. Had to replace the case, the crank, the rod, 2 gears in the tranny, the cylander, the piston, and 2 valves. $2,300. Good luck.
