E-WA Posted October 19, 2005 I have a 25hr race in 10days. The valves on my 04' 250 X, 105 hours, are still in spec. I have all the parts to change the head and piston. Do I leave it or do I change it??????
stevecg Posted October 19, 2005 How important is it to finish the race? If it were mine I'd do it just for peace of mind.
Throttlejockey Posted October 19, 2005 If you have all the parts I would do it. It's due for piston and rings anyway.

Hawaii-Rider My Rides (3) Posted October 19, 2005 E-wa: I had about 120 on mine when I did the first top end....and the piston was due to come out - so...from an old bald guy, if you have the time to do it and break it in.........I would swap it. My valves were still in spec, hadnt moved since first check at 5 hours so I left em be, aint broke, dont fix it, but the piston, the skirts were pretty well polished (if thats what you want to call those things) I put the 270 kit in at that time.. Good luck on the IM race! First year I am going to miss the Goldendale torture. HR
