mxer928 Posted October 20, 2005 I was thinking about using Castrol 10w 40 in my 06 kawi, just the kind you get at wal-mart. I used to run it in my honda no problems. What do you guys think? Thanks
sxy rider 39 Posted October 20, 2005 should work fine, just change it often enough.
tp3dxf Posted October 20, 2005 I have Castrol in my bike right now and have run Valvoline with no problems. Just make sure it not rated "Energy Conserving" I believe the EC rating has more slippery stuff that may not be good for your clutch. I still run Valvoline in my old 01WR 426 and after 3700 plus miles I am still running the same clutch and have never touched the motor. Well a couple of Valve checks that were good but that's it. Just be sure to change it often. Your going to get a lot of opinions on this one.
sxy rider 39 Posted October 20, 2005 I would run the semi-synthetic castrol. it's almost the same price as the full dino oil. http://www.castrol.com/castrol/productdetail.do?categoryId=82915479&contentId=6030819
daveyboyblue Posted October 20, 2005 Dont know what you guys get over there but i use Castrol GTX 10w-40 in my 05 KXF and she ran for about 70 hours with no problems whatsoever until i sold her on.
mxer928 Posted October 21, 2005 I do race motocross in the 125 B class, so i am not easy on it. Would a synthetic be better? I do change oil and filter oftern, like every 3 to 4 hours.
