It's a lifting strap. Very simple yet useful. Great for the muddy Northwet! I'm getting one for each bike.

i just pick my bike up at the steel under the rear fender with ease.

It's useful when you can lift the bike with out getting your gloves all muddy. I had the 230 stuck in mud hole & that strap would have been handy. Instead I got my gloves all covered with greasy mud. Had to ride with out them for the rest of the ride.

Thats why I ride yamaha, has a hole on the numberplate to pick it up, but they got rid of it in 06
