Hot header kxf

My friend has a '04 kx250f with a heating problem. The bike has no engine mods and stock pipe. Out of the blue the exhaust head pipe would get hot enough to glow after only idling for 1 minute when its cold! The engine is cold enough to touch but the exhaust is glowing. I shut it down straight away and pulled the carby down and gave it a good clean out. It runs smoother but still glows.

The bike ran great before. I thought that maybe the fuel screw is out?

Jetting is stock and we are at sea level and 20 Degree C.

Any suggestions?

Turn the lights on in your shed buddy....

This is very common when the bike is idling.

You'll be amazed at how it looks when done at night.

Deff common to see it glowing tho my 06 hasnt done it yet . It changes colors but ..

if ur bike is running lean it can cause ur bike to run hotter also

It is totally normal! I raced at nite one time and before the second moto i saw the same thing and freaked out. I talked to several other people at the track and they said most all 4 strokes do that. Its enough to scare you though.As long as coolant is not flowing out of the overflow you shouldn't have anything to worry about!
