OMG!!! NO push in the sand. This thing is the best turning four stroke in the world - okay, I haven't tried the KTM yet, but I have no doubt this bike would carve it up like a Ninja with a Ginsu going at a turkey. Unreal. showtime180 Posted October 24, 2005 I don't know how you ride with your clutch lever that far down. Isn't it illegal to ride a bike that sexy?
HugeSwapper Posted October 24, 2005 I don't know how you ride with your clutch lever that far down. Isn't it illegal to ride a bike that sexy? That's what they said about my wife, but then she turned 18 As far as the clutch lever goes; habit from my very first MX lesson when Steve Lamson forced me to get off the damned seat and put my elbows up. Did I mention HOW DAMN SHARP THIS THING TURNS with the new front tire. Holy shiznowski!
SUnruh My Rides (2) Posted October 24, 2005 you think it turns good with a 756 front? man, you ought to try a decent tire and report back. where are your forks set in the 3clamp? on the line or above or below?
Yak Posted October 24, 2005 you think it turns good with a 756 front? man, you ought to try a decent tire and report back. where are your forks set in the 3clamp? on the line or above or below? Do you mean 739? ...I thought the 756 was the tire of choice.. What tire would you recommend? I was having a blast on the OEM 739 yesterday. Does it really get even better?! ... I though I died and went to heaven compared to my 426.
HugeSwapper Posted October 24, 2005 The 756 was ideal for the sand track I ride most, but I am concerned once I get further south and hit some hard pack. Guess I can reload the stock front wheel with a good Int-Hard compound to change back & forth. I tried the forks at stock location and was very impressed (since new tire). I dropped them 5mm (raised the line) and I was amazed. What I did not like about the latter setup was that I seemed to feel the square edged holes big time. If my weight was forward, the rear end danced on occasion. I switched back to stock location and I really feel that this is the ideal setup for me. I am elated with it's turning ability. This is not the four stroke of yesterday. BTW, I finally set the sag at 3.75 and made comp/reb adjustments now that the bike is broken-in. Big difference, as would be expected since the sag was at 5 inches before! I'm certain that this contributed to the phenominal steering experienced yesterday. JetBlueJoe Posted October 24, 2005 Hey Beautie Bike, Very Nice! Your Maxxis Tires stand out. Do you perfer them to the 756 or is that what you had mounted on those rims. What there application and how do you like them. Funny I use Maxxis tires on my mountain bike. Good Luck with the 06 Bike!
