Made in China

Are you the same hypocrite saying we are justified in invading Iraq to bring democracy (and implied capitalism)? So capitalism is good for Iraq, but not China? :banghead:

Yer an idiot. China is COMMUNIST, bonehead. :banghead:

Are you sure about that? No more communes, western companies setting up shop in a localized free-market system, and world trade activity in the very best imitation of the US about 55 years ago.

socialist? yes.

democracy? no.

successful?

I think there's a good chance that a socialist government is a more efficient management method than a democracy for such a large, techno-emerging population.

I do not think communism will survive in China. It may take a few decades, but with the influx of cash, more information, and more education it is doomed.

like I said, in a way WE have invaded them with our dollars.

Will will we produce anything in this country ever again?

How do we make it stop?

Get rid of unions and the work will come back to the US.

How does anyone think that a car/truck can cost $30,000 to build? It doesn't, we can thank the unions for that.

I recently had a Ford salesman trying to sell me on "Buy American". But he was trying to sell me a truck that was made in Mexico. So I told him he was right, I should buy American made products. And I bought a Toyota that was made in Fremont, California.

Unions are there so that the Mediocre can make the Wages off the backs of those that do ALL the Work...

Unions are as Responsible for "China-Syndrome" as ANYONE-ELSE!

I say capatalism is good for any country IMHO. I find countrys with capatalism are less likely to try to wage war. When people are free, prosperous, military is used for defense, not offense. If we can get all those Iraqi's working on oil production to drive prices down, making good money to buy a bunch of dirt bikes and quads, (Iraq would make such a cool ORV sports Park) the last thing on their minds will be jihad! :banghead::banghead:

I source products from asia as well as the US.

the quality from China is always 100% better then that of the same product for 2-4x the money made in the US...

But China is now getting to greedy so we are looking for factories in Vietnam and Thailand.

Ummmm... as far as I know we are a capitalist country. Contrary to conservative beleif we Invaded and started a war with a sovereign nation. :busted: We were the agressor.

What is unfortunate is the power corporations yield in this country. They elect the president, (through cash donations and fundraisers) How much did exxon and the other oil companies donate to W. Now they are getting a return on their investment. Healthcare and Pharmecueticals... same.

W is at least loyal to those that bought his office. The dems are almost as bad. I fear we will never have a president that has not already been bought.

We have acheived a standard of living most enjoy. If you want "made in the USA" to be competitive wages will need to be lower and corporations will need to make less money. It is true wages have increased for the average worker slightly. Take a look at how much CEO salaries have increased. These guys and a couple gals are making into the millions and hundreds of millions of dollars.

If wages are lower, you get a lower standard of living. Whose willing to take a pay cut? Many already have, but have the CEO and the like. Probably not.

Google Joseph Naccio of Qwest and take a look at our corporate leaders at work. :banghead:

this is a classic double edged sword.

everyday items we all need and use have not gone up in price, infact most have come down in price, due to china manufacturing.

The US consumer can buy more crap at a lower price, feeding the economy, and helping the businesses that sell them to us...mostly US companies BTW...just made in china.

Bad side is US manufacturing has declined at a dramatic pace. This WAS our backbone for many years.

Now it is technology and service.

The thing that scares me more than chinamen making tickle me Elmo's is Bagwan in India doing software engineering for a cup of noodles a day.

If we loose our technical entrepreneurial edge, then we are really in big trouble.

Economics is kind like water, they have a way of self leveling. It can shift one direction for awhile making waves, but eventually settles.

This will happen in China. Their growing middle class will demand more, they will get used to a certain standard of living, more of them will get educated, thus demanding more rights, costs will go up and then markets will shift again.

I hate seeing made in China...but then I look at it like we are invading them really. They are getting dependant on our dollars. They are getting civilized....and westernized. That is better in my book than more needy, angry and hostile.

You are not likely to kill your biggest customer.

Disregard this post: Logic is not allowed in TS.

Are you sure about that?

Yes. We have "Adopted family" from California who are missionaries in China. Their lives are in CONSTANT danger, and Christians are jailed and killed there every day.

The Chinese execute more of their own people than all of the rest of the planet combined.

They are most certainly Commies. :banghead:

Wow ... I am glad I am not dead !.. I spent a month in China , Both remote and populated city's and the lack of visable authority like the police is so strange with so many people.

I was treated so well by the small town people ..

Oh yes and my wife is Made In China http://www.bcsportbikes.com/photopost/data/523/11760DSC_8083-med.jpg

OK, let me give you a scenario:

You're on a plane that has caught fire.

Someone hands you 2 parachutes.

One is stamped "Made in China" and

one is stamped "Made in the USA".

Which one you gonna put on? :banghead:

whichever is closest because they will both work fine. although the american one is probably built like crap.

we made bumper stickers saying:

unemployment made in China

brought to you by an American manufactorer...

I think this says it very well. We can't blame the Chinese for allowing American manufacturers to place orders with them or because American consumers buy all the stuff American companies import from China.

If you want to hurt the Chinese economy and cut down on the amount of Chinese made goods sold in the U.S., stop buying from Wal-Mart.
