05 or 06 CRF230

Is there any changes between these model years? 05 and 06 CRF230, I'm under the assumption that they are identical and all aftermarket parts would be interchangeable. Anyone know for sure???

The only difference I could find was price. I bought an 05 for right at $3000 out the door($2800+ttl).

And by the way I'm having a freaking blast on mine. I always had quads before but a buddy of mine who used to race alot has been giving me riding tips. I've been getting alot better through the corners.

The only thing I saw was in the carb. Pilot screw is different, the 06 you will need a special tool to adjust. The 06 needle only has two grooves. Lower groove for lower alt. and the other groove for higher alt. It will come stock with the clip in the lower groove.

I think the torque on the pivot bolt on the front brake lever is different also.

So when re jetting the 06 carb a new needle will be needed as opposed to using the 05 needle in the 4th clip position and replacing the stock jets. I guess a good thing is that the current aftermarket exhausts will bolt right on.

The 06 Canadian version will still use the same needle as the 03-05 models.

I guess it really doesn't matter to me, It's not like I'm gonna to get a new 230.
