maybe because you are not supposed to start it like this......

1-2 blips on the throttle to prime the acell pump.....should do it. No gas when kicking it...

and when is the last time you adjusted your fuel screw :banghead:

since i got the bike i never adjusted it wat screw is it

If you are giving it throttle when kicking, the engine is not getting the right mixture to start. If the bike is jetted right, you should not even need to "blip" the throttle to get a squirt from the accelerator pump. Cold starting procedure for my '05 YZ450 is:

1. turn on fuel

2. open choke

3. push on kickstarter till I feel a little resistance

4. grab front brake (to steady bike and consciously not twist throttle)

5. kick the starter

9 times out of 10 she fires on the first kick.

The fuel screw is a recessed screw on the right side of the fuel bowl on the bottom of the carb. it opens up straight down and is a pain to get to without a small and very short flat-blade screwdriver or by loosening the carb boots and rotating the bottom of the carb toward you. A very good investment is an aftermarket oversized fuel screw (I have a Zip-Ty brand one) which sticks out with a large round (wheel) head and numbers on it allowing for easy adjustments and recording of where you have it set.
