Need some help with a Wiseco top end.

I'm gonna put a new Wiseco piston this week in my 450. I was lookin at today and noticed all the different rings. What order do those rings go in. This is my first 4stroke top end I have done. Man there are alot more rings :applause: What ever happened to 2 rings only :ride:

Do I have to punch the cylinder to Deglaze it like my smokers.

It should've came with instructions on how the rings go. I believe it went as follows with the piston on the bench and the middle intake indention at 12 o'clock:

-Top end ring between 10 and 11 o'clock

-second ring between 4 and 5 o'clock (exact opposite from top end ring)

-oil ring gap goes in the same place as the top end ring (between 10 & 11 o'clock). Make sure the ends do not overlap each other, they must butt up end-to-end. Next insert the upper oil ring and put the gap betwen 6 and 7 o'clock. Finally insert the lower oil ring (making an oil ring sandwich) and the gap goes in the same spot as the 2nd ring (between 4 & 5 o'clock).

its much easier to see on paper. Make a diagram if necessary so you can see it.

Thanx Pin, Will my OEM look the same? Will it have those different rings that the wiseco has?

How about punchin the cylinder?......thanx :applause:
