Infuriating....2s vs 4s

Recommended Posts

I've played both sides of the fence in owning bikes, both two-stroke and four-stroke. The maintenance I've had to perform on our WR450F and YZ250F is not 1/5 of what was required on our two-strokes (KX125/YZ85/RM85) but when this is brought-up, the pinger guys get all bent out of shape. Two-strokes are cheaper to own, two-strokes are easier to work on, two-strokes don't overheat, etc....

Anyway, had to vent :applause: Our YZF (1 year old) and WRF (2 years old) have required zero motor repairs.

About a thousand years ago I raced 2-stroke CR's and YZ's and the maintenance didn't seem that bad. For sure the 2-strokes are easy to work on. I love my 05 WR (my first 4-stroke) and plan to keep it unless Yamaha comes out with E.F.I. instead of the carb in the near future. Yup, 4-strokes for me :applause:
