Acceleration speeds?

My buddy says his cr250r does 0-60mph in about 4 seconds does this sounds right? I know that mx bikes are geared for quick acceleration but 4seconds seems pretty quick. I know this may be a pointless topic but I have always wondered what mx bikes can do of the start? what do you rekon a 250f would do up to 100kph? (60 mph)

No it doesn't. A CRF450R doesn't even get there that quick.

It takes the CRF450R 4.8 seconds to get to 100K, a CR250 would probably take slightly longer, say 5 seconds.

Actually it was tested in dirtrider or something and a bone stock cr250 did 0-60 in 4 secs.

yeah dirtrider did a test and i think all of the 2005 250's (TWO STROKES) Did 0-60 in 3.5-4.0 seconds

Bout the same... hella faster than an 80k(US) supercar ,your 500 probably gets better mileage too.

My friend told me he timed his YZ426 @ 3.9seconds

The rider weight and track/road surface will have a lot to do with the time....

The surface they do it on does have a lot to do with the times. You can really only compare times within the same test. The two-strokes are lighter, but they don't get quite as much traction. They could be faster in the right conditions.

Well, cuz with 80 grand worth of Mercedes SL500 you can get the ladies panties off in about 1.2 seconds, while I suspect it will take you several days of convincing on a CRF450. Now thats performance.

No way are they that slow! maybe riding on ice with no spikes but not with decent traction and rider

I believe it, they probably have the power to do it faster but with traction and all I dont think its gonna happen. Besides, I dont think my cr250 does 0-60 that fast, feels more like 7 or 8. Still very fast though!

But were you talking about 250 two-strokes? Because there aren't any graphs from that shootout. The 450s, however, will all reach 60mph in under five seconds (most around 4.7).
