Does this look right? ASV Perch install w/ hot start

Recommended Posts

Took me a little longer than expected because there were no directions and I was not sure if any parts were to be resused. I ended up with one boot from stock setup that I guessed went back on with the new perch.

I thought I was supposed to reuse part #19 from this:

But didnt need it (I think).

The stock rubber boot off the end of clutch cable that attached to the nipple end of part 17 I pet on because it seemed like there absolutlety nothing to keep dirt out:

Anyway, here is where I am now. Questioning the hot start adjustment because I am not hearing any noise on the carb end from the hot start lever being pulled - I expected to hear a click as the hotstart reseated after being pulled.

Dumb question: as long as the free play amounts are within spec then the adjusters are correct right?

They look cool and feel even nicer!

Good point... I normaly use teflon tape and thats jsut so the perch rotates in the event of a crash.

Glad to hear it! Im just amazed that they included no form of boot for that vulnerable area. I just happened to guess to keep that boot there.

The electrical tape I put there on both sides of the stock perch to show me exactly where to place the new one :applause:

On the site there are some generic "take your best shot" at instruction - no help at all.

They are shorty's and the red clamp is for the brack side.

No need for teflon tape and both brake and clutch perchs come with a teflon ring insert thingy that does that part. These things are very well made. Aside from the lack of instruction, I am very pleased.
