Keeping Fit for MX

Hey guys, im fairly new to this website, but im wondering what you guys do to keep in shape for mx. I myself play basketball twice and week and that keeps me fairly fit. I also go to gym once or twice a week usually and do a good session there.

I race hare scrambles and I road cycle in the summer and cross country ski and downhill ski in the winter.

I also have a long history of X-C racing and road/mountain bike racing. But I never seem to be motorcycle and bicyle racing at the same time. So when I'm in the best shape from human powered racing, I'm not riding dirt bikes. Someday, I'd like to be doing both. Maybe when I retire....

I always have to differ to my elders, so what 2whler says is the word, biking either stationary or on the road is better than running for the knees, lite weights and lots of reps is what I believe in. ?

Finally, I'm getting some respect from the "kids" out there. :bonk:
