Cams or Ports

When you make your motor bigger, the power peaks at a lower rpm. Is it , on our 250Fs, because of port restriction, or is it due to cam timing? If it is timing, couldn't you just advance the intake cam to bring the horsepower peak back up?

I like the idea of keeping the stock cams, because they are evidently very easy on the valves.

I'm sure some cam companies can grind cams that have opening and closing ramps as gentle as Yamaha's, I just don't want to experiment.

How did you make it bigger? Bore or stroke, or both?

Well, I'm just dreaming now, but if I ever get around to it, I'll go for the RPM 315 kit.
