Forest Service closure criteria meeting for the Francis Marion NF

The Forest Service is conducting an 'on the ground' meeting at 3PM on Saturday, Februrary 4, 2006, at the Wambaw Cycle Trail trailhead on Halfway Creek Road in the Francis Marion National Forest approximately 20 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina.

The purpose of this meeting is to outline their criteria for 'temporary closures' of the public motorcycle trail. So far this year, the public trail has suffered several closures, the most recent of which began in December, and is still in effect as of today 1/26/06.

The 'once a year' enduro trail use was canceled this year for the first time in the Swamp Fox Enduro's 32 year history. I personally plan to roast them over an open fire for that one.

Any help and support will be greatly appreciated. If you need to Google a map, use intersection: Halfway Creek and Steed Creek Road. The trailhead is approximately halfway between that intersection and the town of Honey Hill in the FMNF.

See you there, and TIA for your support.
