Riding area east of temescal canyon and 15 fwy

Recommended Posts

I have heard you can ride east of the 15 fwy near the temescal canyon exit in South Corona. Anyone know where to park and where you can ride? i recently moved in the area and would love to find it.

Thanks

steve

Steve,

I'm not sure it is legal to ride there, but it does have some good hill climbs. If you want to go out this weekend let me know and I'll show you the spot and some other areas to ride.

I've seen people riding in that area while driving on the 15 but unknown where they park.

Russ where are some other places to ride? I live in Temecula and used to ride off Murrieta Hot Springs to the south behind the Vons. But my son and I were kicked out by the SO. I'm always interested in new places to ride. If you can share some of those areas let me know. My son and I ride at a place in the wine country. Were going saturday morning and if u want to go PM me for directions.

I received a trespassing ticket and a parking ticket for riding in Corona off temescal canyon. Thought it was legal because other people were there and we all ended up with tickets that day. Now I go north up the 15 to stoddard and ride the open desert.

It's far from a legal area to ride in. The owner of the land blocked me in one day after I was riding there. He was in a HUGE water tanker truck. Said if I came back, the pitbull and the shotgun would be doing the talking

Out there today. Buddy ate it on a rutted hill and broke his hand, but good times. Easiest way in is to take Cajalco east from the 15 fwy for about a mile or two and take the trail heading south...you can see it on the hillside to your right. You can also get in off of Temescal about 2 miles south of Weirick. Look for where the buisnesses end...at the first oak trees. I saw no signs, but you might want to avoid weekends. I have seen the Riverside Sheriff's "Off Road Detail" snacking at nearby Tom's farms

I pulled up the two entrances I referenced in my earlier post on Google Earth, but I don't know what I can do with those images other than to give you the #s Google Earth gave me. Cajalco entrance: 33 49 38 27N 117 29 05 59W, Temescal entrance on west side: 33 47 21 84N 117 29 39 34. Hope this helps. Also, alot has changed out there since those pics were snapped. The crossings, some of the groves are gone out to the east, etc...

Definitely illegal to ride there. You see the ROVE (Riverside County dirt patrol) out there often. They have quads and I think a couple CRF450X's. I saw a guy at the Elsinore GP coming off the track while I was lining up and he was mounted on a CRF with Riverside Co. Sheriff emblems and a black and white paint job.

I was out there today and got a trespass ticket. Sheriff car was chasing a couple dirt bikes that got away from him. I was way off in the other direction sitting next to my truck with my bike in the truck. He came over and told me where I was parked was trespassing and gave me a ticket. Said it's private land and illegal to park or ride. On my way out I drove by the area off the main street where a lot of guys would park and gear up. It now has orange plastic fencing there and that sheriff was sitting there looking across the way to the hills.

      Hey all,
I'm looking at buying a 2004 Suzuki DRZ400EK or at least I think it's an EK according to Vin lookup websites, but it does not appear to have a kickstarter. I was told the bike was owned by a motorcycle dealer and that it has a current green sticker, and a California license plate but has not been registered for the streets since 2011. I want this as a dual sport but am not clear if the fact that it already has a plate means I am good to register it or if maybe they took away the ability to register it after it was plated, California loves to do that kind of stuff. Since the bike was owned by a dealer I would think they were up on the latest regulations in California, but who knows. Can anyone add any insight as to what I should look for on the bike itself like the carburetor, model numbers etc? Or do I just try my luck at the DMV?
