There was an IT175. They were blue until 1981, then went all white for 81, then in 82, went all back to that light blue. Usually had some yellow on the number panels background. My twin bro has a 1981 IT250 back in the day. Was almost new. Was a nice ride!

Thanks guys.Kinda thought it was an I.T.Anybody know how to figure out what year model it is?Again the serial # is 3R6 003127

Is that the serial number on the engine? What we need is the VIN number from the gooseneck, if its a 1981 or newer, I can pinpoint the year from the VIN

Contact your local Yamaha dealer with your serial number. If they are reputable, and enjoy having you as a customer, they can look up all specs by that serial number.

On Yamahas, the first three digits (3R6) denotes the model and year, if I'm not mistaken. A dealer will know what bike it is if you give him that number. I'll see if I can find out later.

The IT200 came in in 1984, so it has to be 1983 or older. Too bad its stolen, if that's true.

I cannot believe that no one has figured this out yet.

It is without question a 1980 Yamaha IT175G. The 1982 IT175H has the same 3R6 prefix, but had a white tank and side panels. Aside from that, the bike were identical.

Looking to buy a used Beta 2017 500 RRS from outside California.  Can I plate (Register with CA DMV) the bike in CA?  If so what is the best way?  Don't have the money to put down for a new bike from a Dealer in CA.  Any help or sugguestions would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
