One of the things with Ebay is that you have to pay a commission for your selling price back to ebay. It is common practice for people to sell things for cheap then have high shipping rates to make there money. For example you sell your motorcycle for $1000 plus $200 shippping. Ebay charges you around $50-100 for the selling of your bike. Now alot of people will sell the bike for $50 and then show a fixed shipping rate of $1150. Now they only gave Ebay $4-5 dollars and still got all the money out of there bike that they wanted. I know it's not right but there are alot of people doing it.

ive bought and sold countless items on ebay and let me give you this piece of advise. do not buy items that do not specify the shipping in the ad. they either need to have a flat rate or a shipping calculator. if you get the item at a good deal, many people will try to remake some of their money by adding outrageous handling & packaging rates or even inflating the actual shipping. im not bashing on ebay, i absolutely love using it and ive got some great deals. you just need to be smart about what you bid on. also, make sure you check feedback history before bidding
