fork seals-Will they go bad

I have an '02 CRF450 which I had the suspension done by Factory Conection approx 3 yrs ago. I rode for 5-6 races and then pulled the engine to do an overhaul. Long story short I now have the bike back together and I noticed my fork seals were weeping. Can they go bad with no use (get stiff/brittle) and prolonged periods of no use. Should I replace them ? OK another question, what is the fork oil measuring tool called

Ian

Replace them, now or later!

Go ride the bike and see if they seal back up. If they dont then get some new ones.

Find a graduated cylinder @ a scientific supply house to measure fork oil for the TCs Showas.
