Tusk Handguards on Alum. bars?

Has anyone installed Tusk Handguards on aluminum 7/8 bars (Renthal, rider bend).

The inner diameter of the Alum. bar is smaller than the steel and the insert anchor does not fit in.

Will removing the rubber part from insert allow it to fit?

Is there an adapter or different insert for Alum. bars ?

If I remember the directions, the rubber insert was only for steel bars. You need to remove it for the Renthals. That's what I did and it worked, so hopefully that is what you figured out.

I had to slightly reem out my first pair of Rethals as the bar end adapter plugs would not fit...

Ya, I tried it after I posted and it seems like it will work. I have not got all the way yet. I should have tried it before I posted.

I hope I don't have to ream out the bar ends. ?

When I had to reem out my bars, the insert was just slightly too big. Did not have to remove much.....

I just did this over the weekend. I switched the Tusk D-Flex guards from the stock bars to aluminum ones. All I had to do was remove the rubber part and they fit perfectly. ?
