BTW: i cut out everything inside the tip (spark arrester and stuff), so now it's just an open 1.5-2" tip. i think it looks better without it, but was wondering if it'll make any difference performance wise with it on or off??

last year there were one or two people with this conversion running only headers! that was loud. you'd follow them out of turn 7 and into the front straight and you could feel your brain vibrating.

That is a really a nice job,

Not sure if this is an issue but that lower mounting bracket is pretty heavy duty.

Do you think it might be better to use something that would bend if it gets crashed so it doesn't rip off the bottom of the motor...

looks goood ? but it looks like it will either drag in corners or get ripped of in a low side. what about over heating the rear tire? i say go undertail. just cut the battery tray off and fab a new bracket to go around the exhaust. you definaty have a good welder ? keep us updated on this one. i have 2 ysr's myself and have been thinking of an engine swap in one of them

hadn't thought about the lowside problem, i'll lay the bike on its side and see what it looks like.

i just got back from a weekend at the track and it is dragging in right handers when riding really aggressive, but not enough to cause problems. i'm going to try to tuck it in a little better before next round. i don't think heating the tire is an issue where it is now. there are other bikes with it pointed more directly at the tire and they don't seem to have issues either.

i'd like to do an undertail one... maybe later this year.

i'm going to try to run it at oakhill this year i think. my friend runs his RS50 in cmra too, so i might be on his bike instead... dunno yet. i was going to come out for that first round on the RS, but it was too cold and risky to run that race when i'm not really competing in that series.

we never got the bike to run right... but thats for another thread. i'm going to try a few more things tonight then start posting up some questions.

BTW: the welding and fabricaing job was done by my friend tyler at http://www.northtxcustoms.com/ .... he's pretty good at restoring cars n stuff. he's also interested in starting to fab custom tanks and bikes.
