Pre-race maintenance

I have my first race this weekend and went completely over the bike to make sure everything was tight and adjusted properly.

I checked the valves again and they are spot on. I have had this bike for near a year now with probably 15 or so hours on it and never adjusted the valves. Is this possible or do I have a freak bike? I even re-checked them 4 times and tried to make the measurements fail and couldn't.

With that good news, my bike is getting harder to start and I am trying to figure that out. I put a new plug in and it still requires several kicks even when at TDC. Any thoughts? Also, the gas is fresh.

well ur bike will go a lot more than 15 hours without a valve shimming most likely. You can make at least 100 hours with out shimming most likey. for the starting problem try cleaning out the carb

be sure you are jetted properly and that you pilot jet isn't plugged.

are you nuts? 15 hours and never adjusted the valves? i have 150 and haven't!!! ??
