dr350 gearing (sprockets)

Recommended Posts

can anyone tell me how much increasing the rear sprocket to keep the front end light in the mud the top end speed will be capped. Will be fitting 13 or 14 tooth front and 52 or 53 tooth rear. It is only used of road never on road but i dont want to lose out to my mates on the open stretches. Any advise would be appriciated.

I have just gotten my 350 running after extensive modifications (ported head, better cam, 35mm carb, open air box, larger header) and my gearing is 15/50. For me.....it is a little too low....I am hitting red line too quickly. It has tons of torque and speed. It is just I have to shift too frequently. I am thinking of going 15/48 or 15/45.
