"S" year changes?

Recommended Posts

I am wondering what years the DR-Z400S changed at all. Specifics would be great. I am thinking about getting an '03 but I want to make sure that a newer one wouldn't be a reasonable upgrade.

Thanks

Joshua

The only change I can really think about was in 02 when they went to cartridge forks instead of the old damping rod ones.

Since you are looking at an 03 you have the better forks!

Motor,exhaust.... everything like that is exactly the same through all years I believe.

If you can get a hardly used DRZ S for a good price jump on it!!

other that the fork/ shock upgrade in '02 and the many ACCT revisions ... BOLD NEW GRAPHICS!

ACCT? Ignorance sucks only sometimes.

Being from Canada I have no idea what it would be worth down there.

I payed $4200 Canadian for an almost new(less than 500 miles) 01 last year.

I knew I would have to do something with the forks but for that few miles and that price I had to jump on it.

A new DRZ S up here costs close to $8000 Canadian so it was'nt a hard decision!!

I bought a 02 DRZ400S with only 1850 miles on it for $3,200 in showroom condition.

When I took it off the trailer people thought that I had bought a new one from the dealer. Spent extra cash on upgrades and have one sweet modified DRZ.
