How old is it? Contact the company and see what they say. Nothing to loose and everything to gain. Give it a try.

Thats what happens when you don't re-pack. Just because black goo doesn't shoot all over doesn't mean you can ignore the pipe.

I take out the packing and fill it with helium. It sounds better and makes it lighter too.
