Sprocket sex! Titanium/Chome-Moly!

Recommended Posts

So I got my new rear sprocket in the mail from Sidewinder this evening and all I have to say is I'm impressed! This thing makes an ironman look like a joke! perfectly cut! not a rough edge on the thing! Not sure what its coated with... feels alot like the type of stuff used to coat impact sockets though. Ya, its not fancy shiny anodized alum... but it's beautiful in its own way ? BTW, the things that look like wite lint on it are actually some sort of crystals in the coating....

Feels like it may weigh a little less then the ironman as well... I'll see if I can get my hands on a small scale when i swap it out. but it would be a 48 tooth sidewinder vs a 50 tooth ironman so that probably wouldnt be the best comparison.

Overall... just one first look... the sprocket is pure badass! guess we'll see how it holds up in the long run. Im sure in a few months ill forget to write a review on it... so if someone searches and sees this... pm and remind me! BTW... as for price... theyre selling them for 129.99. same price as the trimetals they make. So ya, its a few dollars more than the ironman... but it sure looks good!

One things for sure... looks like Im gonna go ride with that ugly ass swing arm after all! It'd be a shame to mount it up and just look at it!

Did you have a problem with an Ironman sprocket or just trying something new?

well... i need to switch down to a 48 tooth... was winding the engine out to quickly. Not to mention... the ironman is probably the UGLIEST sprocket ever. it looks almost like they used a shoddy plasma cutter to cut the sprocket.

I was originally going to get the sidewinder tri-metal. but after talking with the guys over there at SW... they had dropped $40 off the price of the ti-moly and made it the same price as the tri-metal. I did some searching on it and havnt found any real info worth a crap on the sprocket... so i figured I'd take one for the team and try it out. We'll see how it looks in 6 months ?
