yz250f 4 me

i started a thread in the wr450 forum, but im wondering how a yz250f would handle as a trail bike. open roads gravel pits an the odd day at the track. is there more maintience then say a wr250f. i will not be racing it. thnaks oh yea maybe buyin a used one so is there any years to avoid? ?

If you want a trail bike, Id suggest going with a WR. I doubt a WR 250F is going to be any more dependable than a YZ 250F. Both engines turn 13,000 rpm, but from what I understand there are slight differences between the 2 engines.

Correct there are some differences in the motors. But it sounds like you will fit the WR better than the YZ. But personally I like how my YZ handles everything, but WR should fit you better. ?

that is pretty much EXCATLY what i do. i say yzf250. i wish i bought a 450 now that i'm going bigger, faster, etc. but i still love my 250 ?

^^^ I feel the same way, because I love my YZ on everything not just the track. But I didn't catch the open rodes and mx part, I just caught the trails part. But like Way Fast I love my YZ. ?

Yes..the motors are basically the same, however the YZ motor is built to be faster for racing, for instance the cams on the YZ are high performance cams designed to get more performance out of the motor. But you can always put YZ cams in the WR motor if ya want too. I have the WR 250f, and I cannot complain one bit. In fact, this bike rocks! Its got all the power I need for the trails and mountains that I ride here in Colorado. The wide-ratio tranny on the WR really makes this bike awesome to ride. Get the WR!

I've ridden the wr and own the yz much more pleased with everything on the yz
