Got $400 to spend, where do I go

Recommended Posts

A question for those of you getting FCR-MX's when the next 26 come in....

Did you order the Extended Fuel Screw? There was another thread where someone was asking Burned about the FMS01 Zip-Ty fuel screw.

I don't know if an Extended Fuel Screw is needed with the FCR-MX, and if it is, whether it can only be put on if the carb is off the bike.

Thanks in advance!

Go to a low-rent "gentlemans club"

Prime the pump w/ a 40 on the way to maximize your return on investment.

Buy a bunch of lap dances, and drinks.

-OR-

get an FCR and do the 3x3.

Ok, been a while since this post.

C'mon, really.... is the $500 on the FCR39 worth it?

Are they still having supply/demand problems?

Does anyone have a link to the dyno tests done with the FCR?

Does the dyno graph really rflect what you truly get with the FCR?

WOW!!!

Looking at those dyno charts, thats a hell of a lot of cash...

$400 exhaust

$400-$500 for a race carb

-------------------------

$800-$1000

=5HP and 3Lb of torque.

I think if I do anything it will be the 3x3 and jetting. I'll put that $1000 towards

other accessories / mods. 5HP for that kind of money just doesn't seem worth it to me. But thats why we all get to have our own opinions, right.

Thanks for the charts Eddie,

Rich

It is a lot of cash, however, you would be suprised at how much that 5 hp changes the bike. Ask anyone who has done it if they regret opening up the wallet. I hate to think of how much it was because I really can't justify it, but it is fun.

The carb seemed to make the most difference to me.

Another option is to get the FCR carb and find a stpck used "E" or kicker pipe from one of the many on here who have gone with aftermarket pipes. They will be quiet and have a bit more power than the stock S pipe with their larger head pipes.

I run a Yosh RS-3 with the large TEC insert. It knocks off a bit of power, but the sound is throaty without being too bad. I am willing to compromise a bit of power to achieve the noise level.

One other benefit that can't be overlooked is the aftermarket pipes are much lighter. The stock exhaust can weighs a ton and sits up high on the bike.

Anyone know if the e pipe after the header is the same ID as the S???

If I go with the e pipe, should I just get the header pipe?
