300wby: I ride my 450 from Lakewood to Boulder (32mi ea way) a couple times per week. That includes 75mph on 6th ave and on on uphill stretches of hwy93. If you are familiar 93, you know that crosswinds are common. Highway stability with street tires is fine (I use 17" Maxxis supermoto's with 15/42 gearing). No, I wouldn't suggest trying to go 100mph... Tire choice and gearing are important. 15/50 with stock wheels would be fine for steady speeds up to 65mph, but buzzy at higher speeds, which might not be smart with plain dual-sport tires. My previous bike was 750 Interceptor. Yah, it was smoother, but nowhere as cool. The WR is much more fun in the corners, actually. I find little difference in wind effect up to 75. Maximize your riding, maximize your fun!
