Clarke tank wire support thingy

Is any one installing the wire support thing that comes with the clarke tanks?

It looks like it just goes straight through under the tank, but it appears it could rub the radiator hose and I dont want to lose the hose to a piece of coat hangar.

I did a couple searches but no info.

I use it, but thats because I have lazy bike syndrome and figure I need all the support possible.

i road with it off and the tank would flex a bit > i put it on and i have no issues the tank is great

i get 250 mile on each fillup

Mine is in the trashcan. It rubbed on something in every installable position. No problems so far and I beat my bike every time I ride.

The wire is there to brace the two sides of the tank, which when full of fuel are heavy and unsupported. I put it on mine without any problem.

If you leave off the gas tank support are you going to carry a FIRE extinguisher????????????????????

Install it with the open sides of the loops down

Same here, installed mine no problemo, with a bit of tweaking so the looped ends layed flat.
