02 xr250 when hit rev limeter blows out oil smoke

when i pin it or max it out when i let of the throtle it blows out a cloud of oil is this normal it not aalot of smoke just a litle cloud this isnt my bike its a friends

the rev limiter causes the engine to run rich because you are still pumping in gas but the ignition is in the process of shutting off. bike ain't supposed to be pinned reguarly-what the hell do you think the rev limiter is for? to protect the engine from an accidental overrev. the morons pin the bikes for magazine shoot outs but they don't own the bikes, they are just trying to sell magazines and advertising.

Sounds like you need to stick to your Yamaha. XR's are not made to rev to high RPM's they make no power up there.

This has to be a troll thread. No one could be seriously wondering why a mild trail bike isn't as powerful as a full on MX bike.
