Hesitating....Please Help!!!

Recommended Posts

My klx250s is hesitating around 6k rpms and won't go over 7k while in gear. It seems to get worse the faster I'm going.

I thought it was water in the gas so I drained and refilled the tank (93octane).

Then I removed the plug and cleaned it, but nothing has helped the problem.

Please help!

Could it be that your oil level is too full and maybe the crankshaft is hitting a pool of oil on the downstroke?

Sounds lean to me.Go through the carb.Be sure to check the float level. Also spray the whole thing out real well with brake cleaner. You could have a COS in there some where.

****BUT AVOID HITTING YOUR CARB'S RUBBER GASKETS WITH BRAKE CLEANER. IT CAN SWELL THEM UP AND THEY WON'T FIT ANYMORE. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, GOT THE T-SHIRT! :excuseme: ****

Check the tank vent. Is it better with gas cap loose?

Add a few onces of iso alcohol to fuel. Water drops can get trapped in carb jets.
