YZ80 Big Wheel Upgrade

Sorry if this has been covered before. Darn search function is down again!! :ride:

My son has a YZ80 (2001) and if he keeps growing like he has been, the bike will soon be too small for him. We just bought this bike last year and it still runs quite well and is still enough power for him. Buying a new bike is not in the realm of possibility right now, so I'd like to keep this one as long as possible.

I've read somewhere that there is a big wheel kit for this bike. Can anyone shed some light on this? If it is doable, what would need to be done/modified on the bike to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

big wheeles suck sell the big wheele for a good price u might need a little extra money but i am sure if u sell the big wheele u wont need tto mutch more money

No YZ kit....you have to build them, unlike buying a KX100, KTM105, RM100, CR Big Wheel.

For your situation, put the long swing-arm on the bike, add the longer brake lines, and build the big wheels

      Hi;
      I was wondering on what the model years were for the factory reed valve. I bought the bike used and it only came with a vforce reed cage and I wanted to go back to factory.

      Vfroce lists their cage would fit 98-New bikes but I know yamaha changed up the yz250 motor in 02 so not sure if the factory reed valve remained the same.

      Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

      Hey guys, I have a question. I go to Gorman, but they require green sticker to ride during the summer. I want to buy a newer bike, but can't take it there during summer. How does everyone who have red sticker bikes ride during the summer? Let me know where you guys go.

      Hey guys I live in Cali and I need green stickers to ride during summer. Not only that, but a spark arrestor is required. I just want to know something. Where can you ride without a sticker or spark arrestor? Maybe even on the streets?

      Hey guys I read an article saying that the 01 YZ125 has six gears. But other people are saying that it's 5. How many gears does it have? Just asking. Thanks.
