4 month old 06 KX250F

Just letting you guys know about my 06 valves. This bike has been raced about every weekend of the 4 months Ive owned it. Oil changed twice and filter cleaned twice...Always used full synthetic oil. Im only a C class rider so Im not real hard on it, but anyways I checked the valves today...All checked out just right. I figured this was pretty good seeing as how the oil hadnt been changed much and the filter not cleaned much. How is everyone elses holding up?

Valve life has little to do with oil..but the life of the rest of the engine does. Change your oil and filter more.

I would definately change that oil more often. If your racing weekends, I would change oil every other weekend and the filter every other oil change.

Dude, you need to change your oil way more often. I change mine every 2nd ride, sometimes 3rd ride( if im just playing around) and clean my air filter after every ride. Change oil filter every oil change.

Yea I know I need to change it more, sometimes its just hard for me to get oil and filters since by the time I get off work the shop is closed. With the air filter I guess I have no excuse but it just doesnt look that bad after one race.

I really do not get it. Looking at the users manual, it says to change the oil every 6 rides or 15 hour and to use full sinthetic oil. Why then to change it sooner? It does not make sense to me...

my oil is changed every week. oil filter every other week

Change your oil every 4 rides or so if you are a guy who doesnt rev the piss out of the bike. It is an 06, the oil change should take no more than 20 minutes.

I cant believe you have only cleaned your air filter 2 times in 4 months! I put a clean filter on every time I ride and sometimes for every moto depending on the track conditions...
