Oh Yikes. Help needed. Anyone have a service manual?

Recommended Posts

Hey Folks.

My 06 SM510R has a pretty substantial oil-seep from the cylinder base. After finally tracking it down, I pulled off the valve cover. Long story longer, I need to re-torque the cylinder/head nuts that are underneath the camshafts.

I'm flying a bit blind, as I dont have the service manual (backordered for, forever). I'm wondering if someone has already done it, or if someone could help me from their service manual as to the proper procedure for these motors? I'd be forever in your debt. I've got a non-refundable trackday coming up on the 3rd, and I hope to get this sorted by then.

Thanks for any help you can provide! I'm a bit nervous.

Hey! Thanks! I tried to respond but your PM box is full. Would you rather that I just email you my information? I am in your debt for your help.

My 06 SMR510 also looked like it was leaking from the cyl base, but I found an o-ring cut behind the waterpump assy, causing oil to run down the cyl, and I couldn't see it untill I installed oil dye and put a black light on it. Mike
