reliability

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of getting a RMZ450 and just wanted to know how well do they hold up? Do you have to adjust the valves alot and how does it compare to the YZF and the CRF as far as reliability goes?

Well I Just bought one, but my brother has had his 06 for half a year now. It has been through everything from tracks to wide open hill climbs. He has not had a problem at all. He changes his oil every 3 rides, makes sure the basics are good like: oil filter, air filter etc. He took his bike to a guy that fixes them, but this was to check his valves, tensioner, crank, piston. Only one thing he found and that was that the intake valves were alittle tight. That was it. It starts easy and handles bad ass, I just selling my 06 KX450F for a 06 RM-Z450. Treat the bike well (regular maintenance) and it will be a good bike. As for the CRF and YZF, good bikes. Dont know much about the CRF, but my brother used to have a 01 Yz426F and that was a good bike for him.
