oil cooler leak

Recommended Posts

Hello, yesterday I had a little crash with the DR, nothing special, apparently

nothing broken. Today, in the afternoon when I was about to ride the DR I saw

some oil in the head pipe, then I checked the oil cooler, and there it was... a

leak... How can I fix this? Are there any aftermarket (cheaper) coolers for the

DR650 (1997)?

nop.. I've phoned a couple repair shops and they don't repair aluminum radiators... I've checked motorcycle bandits shop and its 400USD the OEM radiator, way too expensive!!!

Yea they are way to much. Like I say if it isn't to bad I would JB Weld it.

I have used it to stop leaks on car radiators (lots more pressure) and it has held up.

I even used it to put a chunk of case back on my old IT250 yama when my chain flew off and never had any more problems. Rode it for 5 years after that.

Just find the leak and clean it the best you can then put a thin layer on, let it dry and put more on. Then keep an eye out on ebay for one.
